Phi Sigma Pi was founded on February 14, 1916, at State Teachers College at Warrensburg, Missouri by E.L. Hendricks, C.A. Phillips, and C.H. McClure. It was originally named Phi Sigma Pi Honorary Professional Fraternity. For over 90 years we have strived to achieve the goal that our founding fathers envisioned: To be the leader in the Fraternity World. On May 2, 1921, the fraternity became national when the Gamma Chapter was installed at Bradley Polytechnic Institute in Peoria, Illinois. In 1966, Phi Sigma Pi Honorary Professional Fraternity became Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity. In 1977, the National Constitution was amended to admit eligible women and thus Phi Sigma Pi became a co-educational fraternity. Currently, there are chapters chartered throughout the Mid-West and East Coast. Today, over 30,000 students and alumni over 103 institutions nationwide have met the standards for membership in Phi Sigma Pi.
Phi Sigma Pi blends the best attributes of other organizations into one unique and uncommon organization. It is THE ONLY national honor fraternity.
We are NOT an honor society
We are NOT a service fraternity
We are NOT a social fraternity
We ARE a unique organization that strives to blend the best attributes of all of the above.
